As part of our student exchange with Imperial College five students come to TMDU every spring for a research experience. Our fourth-year students who will be going to Imperial College for ‘Project Semester’ kindly host them and share many aspects of Japan’s culture and education with these students while they are here, and one of the events they participate in is Imperial/TMDU Discussion Café. This past Saturday, April 23, over 30 students gathered in the Faculty Lounge to talk about the “Impact of Globalization on Health”, and a related topic “Medical Tourism”. This is a great opportunity for not only English discussion, but also student networking; and there was a great turnout of first-year students. Through this event they got to feel more comfortable with their seniors, and learn about global issues through a broader viewpoint. This is a yearly event open to all students at TMDU.
