2016 “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session Series No. 26 held

26th “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session June 3, 2016

Dr. Kanazawa joined us for the 26th “Find-Your-Role-Model” session. He is an assistant professor at the gerontology and oral rehabilitation department in TMDU. After graduating from TMDU's School of Dentistry, he went on to receive his PhD. Up to now, Dr. Kanazawa has engaged in clinical, research, and education fields of prosthodontics. He studied abroad at McGill University, and is participated actively there in the clinical and research fields of implant overdentures.

Dr. Kanazawa explained why he chose to major in the implant overdenture field and the reason he went to graduate school. He also explained in detail about what kind of experiences he had while studying abroad at McGill University. Moreover, he mentioned about the balance between clinical, research, and education fields that he is now engaging in. He gave us advice to study English hard, and try to communicate with many people while studying at TMDU. As a closing statement, he left us a message about the importance of having passion towards what you want to do, and trying to become a future leader in whichever field you choose. This was a valuable session to think about our future career as a dentist.
