2017 Global Communication Workshop (GCW)

2017 marks the fifth year of GCW. This year's sessions started Saturday, 6/3, and will run through 7/1. This workshop utilizes a case-based theme concerning a vaccination boycott in Africa to allow students the experience of a mock international negotiation. Students from all six areas of study at TMDU, international exchange grads and high schools play the roles of six stakeholders, WHO, CDC, MSF, and three levels of leaders from an African country to practice communicating in English. It is a tough 4 hours, but a good start for students to learn what areas of English communication and interaction they need to work on during their time here at TMDU to become more international. We were very impressed with today's lively discussions and well-thought out solutions! Great work everyone!
