43rd “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session July 11, 2018

In the 2nd Find Your Role Model Session of 2018, we invited Dr. Miyoko Tsutsumi (Takizawa).
Dr. Tsutsumi (Takizawa) graduated from St. Mariana University School of Medicine and from 2002 interned at the U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa. After that, she went to the U.S. and did a Family Medicine residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School; then completed her residency at the University of Hawaii. After being board certified in Family Medicine, she returned to Japan and worked at St. Luke's Hospital from 2007-17. In 2017, she started working in Vietnam at the Lotus Clinic.
In the session, she lectured about: Family Medicine, various medical careers abroad, and how to balance family and career.
Especially, since she has two children, we could talk deeply about family, communication with your partner and balancing your partner’s career when pursuing a global career. It was a rare opportunity to hear about not only job and work but also private matters in relation to a global career.
