Special Lecture ‐Commemorating the Master of Public Health in Global Health Course Opening
”NCDs and global health in the era of big data”

In connection with the “Top Global University Project” and as part of the kickoff event for the Master of Public Health in Global Health Course, which is scheduled to open in April 2018, Dr. Gauden Galea, Director of the Division of Noncommunicable Diseases and Promoting Health through the Life-course at the WHO Regional Office for Europe, will give a lecture and participate in a
“Find-Your-Role Model” session in order to encourage collaboration between TMDU and the WHO and support global career development for students, faculty and staff. This is a rare opportunity—be sure to participate!

Dr. Gauden Galea is a public health physician who has worked for WHO since 1998. He has held posts as regional adviser on noncommunicable diseases in the Western Pacific Region, and as coordinator of health promotion in WHO headquarters. Dr. Galea has been Director of the Division of Noncommunicable Diseases and Health Promotion at WHO/Europe since January 2011. He has a special interest in health promotion, in the social determinants of noncommunicable diseases, and in the links between these diseases and the development agenda.
