TMDU×Waseda Discussion Café on December 7, 2019

Our 13th Discussion Café, an ongoing collaboration between TMDU and Waseda University, was held on Saturday, December the 7th. The event brought together over 50 students with diverse backgrounds from both universities.

This time, students focused the topic of Social Media, exchanging their own insights concerning the pros and cons of the rapid changes in society brought on by social media. The event started with a reception and friendly icebreaker, to allow students to get to know each other and warm up. This was followed by fruitful discussions, during which students developed a more profound comprehension of social media, our society and various values and cultures, which would certainly be of great importance for TMDU students when dealing with patients in the future. The event ended with many students still talking and laughing and discussing their desire to attend the next event.

Discussion Café is a fantastic opportunity to practice English communication skills as well as to network with students from a wide variety of majors, career goals and cultural backgrounds. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of Waseda University’s ICC staff, and the assistance of TMDU’s HSLP members and international student Task Force, who all worked very hard to prepare for this event!

The next Discussion Café will be held on Saturday, July 4 at Waseda’s campus and will be hosted by the ICC. We hope to see you all next time!
