What is Discussion Café?

In July 2013, TMDU and Waseda University signed an agreement with the primary goal of cooperating to cultivate future global leaders. This will be the12th gathering of "Discussion Café" under this cooperation.

DCafé provides a rich environment for discussion in English of current controversial topics with students from various backgrounds. This is a fantastic opportunity to network with students in various fields of study from Japan and other countries and practice expressing your opinions in English!

Discussion Topic

Sometimes, we say “we just want to be happy” or think “what is happiness?” The way we define happiness may vary depending on where we were born and how we were raised. Would you like to have a discussion about "happiness" with people from various backgrounds who have their own unique ideas and values? Since students from various fields from both universities are attending, you will have the chance to hear many unexpected ideas and values.

Moreover, since everyone can relate to this topic, you don't need professional knowledge regarding the topic, nor fluency in English.
