The 18th TMDU x Waseda Discussion Café was held!

TMDU×Waseda Discussion Cafe vol.18_photo1 The 18th TMDU x Waseda Discussion Café was held on July 9th (Sat) at Waseda University! This time we resumed face-to-face meetings, with around 40 students of diverse backgrounds and ages coming together to discuss the topic of love.

Discussion Cafés are centered around a specific topic and are a fantastic opportunity to practice talking in English, sharing opinions with a wide range of people, and making new connections. This event was hosted by seven Task Force members from TMDU and members from Waseda University’s International Communications Center.

TMDU×Waseda Discussion Cafe vol.18_photo2 During this event, we discussed the many different forms of love in our lives. We pondered the differences between platonic and romantic love, what love means to each of us, the differences in the dating cultures of participants’ countries, and how the pandemic has changed the dating scene. The event was held in the World Café style, with participants moving to a new group every half hour. This allowed us to learn about how love is viewed in a variety of cultures.

Discussion Cafés are not only for practicing English communication but for meeting new people from different universities, majors, and nationalities. They are held every few months, and we welcome you to join us for the next event!
