2024 HSLP Retreat
On December 21st, 2024, the 11th annual HSLP Retreat was held at the MD tower Faculty Lounge. This annual event has become a treasured opportunity for our growing HSLP community to gather, reflect on past achievements, and inspire each other for the future.
The retreat began with opening remarks from Prof. Foss, followed by presentations that showcased the diversity of HSLP experiences. This year featured a newly launched event, Chat ATP, which warmly welcomed more attendees to the event. After reviewing all the events and introducing the new chief members, we invited two of our graduating students to OB&OG Talk, where they kindly shared their journeys so far and offered insightful and fruitful advice based on their experiences. Afterwards, the introduction movie filmed by the freshmen who joined in fall 2024 was screened, filling the lounge with a heartwarming atmosphere.
The 2024 retreat also included Free Talk Sessions designed to spread and deepen connections among HSLPers across all years. This session brought students together to exchange perspectives and ended in great success by making good use of this rare annual opportunity for the entire community to gather together. Every participant looked enthusiastically enjoyed talking and building networks in this session.
Later in the Retreat, ENVISION TALK was given by 4 students who generously shared their inspiring stories and enthusiasm for the future. Their words gave all of us great motivation and courage to envision our own paths forward. The retreat was concluded with remarks from our newly appointed supervisor, Dr. Hasegawa, who highlighted the unique support system within the HSLP community, encouraged us to make the most of this wonderful community and to develop HSLP for a bright future.
Throughout the day, laughter, thoughtful discussions, and inspiring stories filled the room. We are proud of all the accomplishments within our community 2024, and we look forward to seeing how each member will continue to grow. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported HSLP in 2024!
