We have been holding a series of events called “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session to provide students with opportunities to interact with TMDU alumni and worldwide leaders in healthcare sciences. Through this roundtable-type, relaxed atmosphere event, we hope students will be able to find their role models to help facilitate their career development toward becoming future global leaders.

We are pleased to invite Dr. Naotsugu Oyama, Head of the Japan Medical Office at Takeda. After graduating from Hokkaido University School of Medicine, Dr. Oyama trained in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and received his M.D. degree from Hokkaido University. He started his career in the pharmaceutical industry as a medical specialist in the Research and Development Division and Medical Affairs Department of AstraZeneca K.K. in 2006 and obtained his MBA in 2010. In 2013, he joined Novartis Pharma K.K. as General Manager of the Medical Division, and from 2015 to 2017, he served as Director of Global Medical Affairs at the Swiss headquarters. From 2015 to 2017, he served as Director of Global Medical Affairs at the Swiss headquarters and then returned to Japan as Executive Officer and General Manager of the Medical Division, where he also served as Executive Officer and General Manager of the Exploratory Development Division. In July 2020, he was appointed as Head of the Japan Medical Office at Takeda.
