24th “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session (8th in 2015 Series)

We have been holding a series of events called “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session to provide students with opportunities to interact with TMDU alumni and world-wide leaders in health sciences. Through this roundtable-type, relaxed atmosphere event, we hope students will be able to find their role models in order to facilitate their career development in becoming future global leaders.

In the eighth FRYM session of academic year 2015 we will be hosting Dr. Toshihisa Satta, a 2012 TMDU Faculty of Medicine alumnus. During his time at TMDU he participated in the exclerkship program at Harvard affiliated hospitals Massachusetts General Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. After graduation, he did his internship and residency in general medicine, then went on to become a clinical fellow of hematology/ oncology all at Yokosuka Kyosai Hospital in Kanagawa. He is currently doing a U.S.A residency in medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital, New York. This session will be carried out in a round-table discussion format, and will cover the following points. Everyone is welcome to join us in a hearty discussion.

  • Who is your mentor, and what inspired/ motivated you to go abroad?
  • What are the advantages of being a physician in the U.S., compared to being one in Japan?
  • How did the clinical externship program of TMDU influence your career?
