We have been holding a series of events called “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session to provide students with opportunities to interact with TMDU alumni and worldwide leaders in health sciences. Through this roundtable-type, relaxed atmosphere event, we hope students will be able to find their role models in order to facilitate their career development in becoming future global leaders.

In the second FYRM session of academic year 2016 we will be hosting Dr. Manabu Kanazawa, assistant professor in TMDU's Gerodontology and Oral Rehabilitation Department. A graduate of TMDU and TMDU graduate school, he pursues his current career with past experience of visiting professor at McGill University (Canada). He has been successful in Implant Over Denture (IOD) research, along side of conducting clinical and academic works. This session will be carried out in a round-table discussion format, and will cover the following points. Everyone is welcome to join us in a hearty discussion.

• Who is your mentor, and what inspired/ motivated your career?
• Balance between in clinical work and research in an academia.
• What experience during your student days at university was beneficial to your career? And in what way?
• What is the merit of going to graduate school?
• What are the advantages of being a dentist, or a patient, in Canada compared to in Japan?
