40th “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session (7th in 2017 Series)

We have been holding a series of events called “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session to provide students with opportunities to interact with TMDU alumni and worldwide leaders in health sciences. Through this roundtable-type, relaxed atmosphere event, we hope students will be able to find their role models in order to facilitate their career development in becoming future global leaders.

In the seventh FYRM session of academic year 2017 we will be hosting Dr. Noriyuki Kasahara, a 1986 TMDU School of Medicine and 1993 Doctorate in Endocrinology alumnus. After graduation, he went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Endocrinology from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He has conducted research at many well-known U.S. universities including UCSF, University of Southern California, and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is currently a Professor at the University of Miami and visiting professor/ adjunct professor at universities in England, Japan and the U.S., and Medical Director of a clinical transplant testing laboratory. This session will be carried out in a round-table discussion format, and will cover the following points. Everyone is welcome to join us in a hearty discussion.

  • About his latest research
  • The reason why he chose to work in the U.S.
  • Future of cancer treatment
  • Advice for students considering global career

Get great advice from a TMDU alumnus very active in the U.S. for over thirty years as a researcher as well as teacher and a clinical lab director. Please join us to learn more about international collaboration, and why he chose to work and live in North America!
