41st “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session (8th in 2017 Series)

We have been holding a series of events called “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session to provide students with opportunities to interact with TMDU alumni and worldwide leaders in health sciences. Through this roundtable-type, relaxed atmosphere event, we hope students will be able to find their role models in order to facilitate their career development in becoming future global leaders.

In the eighth FYRM session of academic year 2017 we will be hosting Dr. Braun who received his PhD in Computational Biology from Courant Institute of Mathematical Science at New York University in 2012 and in 2013 graduated from Icahn School of Medicine of Mount Sinai. He did his residency and served as a Chief Medical Resident in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a partner of Harvard Medical School, where he is currently a fellow in Hematology and Oncology. This session will be carried out in a round-table discussion format, and will cover the following points. Everyone is welcome to join us in a hearty discussion.

  • Reasons for learning medicine after studying computational biology
  • How a PhD widens the career choices for MDs
  • Considering the points above, necessary courses for development of medical health care
  • Reasons for choosing his specialty and his current place of work
  • Ways for students to become active as medical clinicians in Japan and overseas
  • What clinician work is like in the USA
