We have been holding a series of events called “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session to provide students with opportunities to interact with TMDU alumni and worldwide leaders in health sciences. Through this roundtable-type, relaxed atmosphere event, we hope students will be able to find their role models in order to facilitate their career development in becoming future global leaders.

In the second FYRM session of academic year 2018, we will host Dr. Tsutsumi who received her MD from the St. Marianna University School of Medicine in 1997. After completing her internship at the Okinawan US Naval Hospital in 2003, she interned in Family Medicine at West Virginia University from 2004 and then completed her residency at the University of Hawaii in 2006. After obtaining a Virginia Medical License and certification from the American Board of Family Medicine, she returned to Japan in 2007 and served as an internist at St. Marianna University. Dr. Tsutsumi is currently working as a clinician at the Lotus Clinic and living with her husband and two children in Hanoi, Vietnam.

This session will be carried out in a round-table discussion format, and will cover the following points:

• Family Medicine in Japan and in the US
• Best aspects of being a General Practitioner
• How to have a successful work and home-life balance
• Competencies required for working globally
