We have been holding a series of events called “Find-Your-Role-Model” Session to provide students with opportunities to interact with TMDU alumni and worldwide leaders in health sciences. Through this roundtable-type, relaxed atmosphere event, we hope students will be able to find their role models in order to facilitate their career development in becoming future global leaders.

In the sixth FYRM session of academic year 2018 we will be hosting Dr. Yoko Fujimoto, Sr. director of Medical Affairs Essential Health at Pfizer Japan Inc. A TMDU alumni, Dr. Fujimoto joined the department of neurology and neuroscience, serving Tokyo metropolitan hospitals for 6 years. In the meantime, she took an opportunity to do research at Duke University, where she engaged in basic immunological research. Joining Pfizer Japan Inc. in 2002, Dr. Fujimoto served as director of R&D, contributing to the release of medications for a number of diseases including diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, and cardiovascular diseases. After joining the department of Established Pharmaceutical Business in 2013, she became Director of Medical Affairs in 2014.

This session will be carried out in a round-table discussion format, and will cover the following points:

• Career path:Pursuing non-clinical career after clinical/basic research experience
• Work-life balance:How to successfully manage career and families
